Group travel dates for the AIMS Orchestra in Graz are:
Depart North America July 12, 2009 (arrive Graz next day);
Depart Graz, Austria August 15, 16, 17, 2009 (arrive U.S. same day).

Personal Auditions
You must bring with you the standard excerpts listed below for your instrument. When no specific parameters are listed, please play excerpts as stated in the standard excerpt books, choosing contrasting sections if the excerpt is extremely lengthy.

Audition Registration
AUDITION REGISTRATION IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED AND WILL OPEN OCTOBER 1st. Please check back later. Click HERE for Instrumentalist Registration (for Personal or Recorded Audition and to pay the audition fee).

Once your Audition City has been confirmed by AIMS Administration, view details of Audition Site locations, addresses, room numbers, directions and maps - click HERE.

After registering for an audition, you will receive a Confirmatory Email with the link to a document, the Orchestra Audition Questionnaire. These are the instructions you will be given:

  • Open and Print this document.
  • FILL OUT the questionnaire, your repertoire, attach a small photo and your one-page résumé. Your résumé should include competitions you have won/placed.
  • BRING these items to your audition.
  • GIVE them to the AIMS Representative.
    (Page 2 of the document is for recording the results of your audition.)

Recorded Auditions
Each excerpt must be performed in one take without stopping the recording. The items to include in a recorded audition packet are:
  • Recording labeled with your name and email address
  • Your photo
  • A one-page résumé
  • Audition fee payment (if not paid when registering)
  • Recommended but not mandatory: a brief letter of evaluation from your teacher and/or coach (where applicable)
  • Postage-paid envelope if you want the tape/CD returned.
  • Mail your packet to the AIMS Administrative Office.

1. One accompanied standard solo, preferably a movement from a standard concerto. For Personal Auditions, you must bring the accompaniment to this piece.  An accompanist will be provided or you may bring your own.
