Soprano / Vocal Coach – Operetta
Christine Maria Fasser was born in Vienna and comes from a musical family. She took piano and violin lessons at the Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory in Graz and also studied instrumental and voice pedagogy. She was also a voice student of Kammersängerin Ruthilde Bösch in Vienna and sang on master classes with Sena Jurinac.
Christine was the winner of the competition “Jugend musiziert” in 1989 and 1991 and a finalist for the “Nico Dostal Competition” in 1999.
From 1991-2001 she was an ensemble member of Vereinigte Bühnen Graz as a solo singer with guest performances at the Darmstadt State Opera and Leoben Stadttheater. Christine is a founding member of the Murau Operetta Festival and Aichfeld Operetta.
Her repertoire includes roles in operas, operettas, musicals and oratorios, as well as performances with her own jazz ensemble within Austria and abroad. Currently, her musical focus is on the operetta genre with a wide repertoire including “Die Fledermaus” (Adele, Rosalinde), “”Die schöne Helena” (Helena), “Phi-Phi” (Madame Phidia), “Der Zigeunerbaron/” (Saffi) “Die Czardasfürstin” (Countess Stasi), “Orpheus in the Underworld” (Euridike), “Der Vogelhändler” (Christl), “The Mikado” (Katisha), “Gasparone” (Carlotta), “Die lustige Witwe” (Hanna Glawari), “Die Zirkusprinzessin” (Fürstin Fedora), “Hugdietrichs Brautfahrt” (Fairy Belladonna), “Gräfin Mariza” (Maritza), “Das Feuerwerk” (Iduna) and “Das Land des Lächelns” (Lisa).
In November 2016 she was seen as Morgana in the family musical “Der Zauberlehrling” at the Graz Opera.
