Caleb Newell
Violin
Caleb Newell is a violinist from West Virginia, currently studying with Professor Mary Grace Johnson at West Virginia University. He began playing the violin at age 12, first studying with Ian Jesse. Caleb has performed with several ensembles, including the West Virginia Youth Orchestra, the WV State Philharmonic Orchestra, and the WVYSO Performance Quartet, appearing at a variety of venues from concert halls to community events. He has participated in master classes with noted violinists such as Tessa Lark, Charles Morey, Christina Bouey, Christine Harada Li, Dr. Wanchi Huang, Rachel Barton Pine, Peter Salaff, Mari Sato, and Daniel Phillips.
Caleb plays on an instrument provided by a scholarship from the Virtu Foundation.
