Originally from Los Angeles, California Daniel Gelman is currently a first year Master’s student at the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Michael Sachs. Daniel received his Bachelor’s Degree in Trumpet Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Adam Luftman and Mark Inouye. During his time there, he toured with San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra and performed with the Merced Symphony. Daniel attended the Aspen Music Festival in 2016 and 2017, where he received a fellowship, and performed with world renown musicians such as Renée Fleming, Sasha Cooke, and Joshua Bell. In the Summer of 2018 he was a member of Spoleto USA, where he had the opportunity to play in the North American premier of Donizetti’s Pia de Tolomei, and accompany the Miami City Ballet.
