Danielle Karppala
Cello

Danielle Karppala is a freelance cellist from the US, based on the PA-MD border.  She is currently focused on enhancing her orchestral career and regularly performs with the York and Lancaster Symphonies in Pennsylvania. In September 2022 she performed Schumann’s cello concerto with the Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra as soloist, where she is also a member. This is her second year as a member of the AIMs festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria.  She has previously served as member of the Penn’s Wood Festival Orchestra in State College, PA and a fellow at the Next Festival of Emerging Artists at Music Mountain in Connecticut.  In addition to her orchestral pursuits, Danielle is adjunct professor of cello at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD and maintains a small private studio of dedicated students near her home in Carroll Valley, PA. She holds a M.M. from The Hartt School of Music and a P.P.C. from Penn State.
