Dominic Panunto is a bassoonist living and performing in the Philadelphia area. He is a member of the York Symphony Orchestra and of Arcana New Music Ensemble. An active freelancer, he has played with such symphonies as Reading Symphony, Bay Atlantic Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, and Greenville Symphony. Having a wide range of interests in music, Dominic has participated in professional opera, orchestra, chamber, contemporary, and solo performances. His teachers have included William Short, Angela Anderson-Smith, Valerie Trollinger, and Holly Blake. Dominic completed his studies at Temple University where he also discovered a passion for performing unknown works from underrepresented composers and is currently engaged in creating a performance series that illuminates these works with the Free Library of Philadelphia. Dominic has taught at Drexel University and currently maintains a teaching studio at the University of Pennsylvania. In his free time, he enjoys reading, urban exploration, and sewing garments for friends and loved ones.
