Emily Bustos
Violin

Originally from El Paso, TX, Emily Bustos is a recent graduate from Baylor University with a Master of Music Degree in Violin Performance. Her teachers include Patricia Shih, Dr. Kathryn Steely, Dr. Bruce Berg, and Charles T. Angerstein. Recently, Ms. Bustos competed in the 2023 Young Artist Competition held by the Tuesday Musical Club in San Antonio, TX. She previously competed as a semi-finalist in the 2022 American Viola Society Orchestral Competition. While in graduate school, Ms. Bustos explored interests in ethnomusicology, focusing on Native American music and underrepresented composers. She is currently a freelance musician in Waco, TX, San Antonio, TX, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. As an avid chamber and orchestral musician, she is a member of the Bustos Duo and the following Texas orchestras: Waco Symphony and Temple Symphony Orchestras. Outside of music, Emily has a fondness for outdoor activities including paddle boarding and sand volleyball. Both her and her sister, Jackie, enjoy spending time with their many cats in Waco.
