Jacob Kolodny is a passionate orchestral and chamber musician. As a high school student in Bucks County Pennsylvania, he was fortunate to study with Joanne Bates and Joseph Conyers, both of whom are graduates from Curtis and have played with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Also during his high school years, he played in multiple youth orchestras, jazz band, and various festivals during the school year and summer time. Currently living in New York City, Jacob is pursuing his undergraduate degree at The Juilliard School. His current teachers at Juilliard are Joseph Conyers, Rex Surany, and formerly Albert Laszlo. Last summer Jacob attended the Bowdoin International Music Festival and was able to engage in a chamber music setting as well as take lessons from Kurt Muroki which fueled his musical passion even further. This will be Jacob’s first year participating in the AIMS festival orchestra and he is eager to see Europe and play some amazing repertoire!
