Jake Haskins
Percussion
Jake Haskins is a percussionist and timpanist from Michigan City, Indiana, and currently serves as a section percussionist with the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra. Other ensembles Jake has performed with include the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Portland Symphony Orchestra, and the American Modern Ensemble. In summers past, he has been a fellow at festivals such as the Texas Music Festival, Chautauqua Festival, Eastern Music Festival, Mostly Modern Festival, and the Cortona Marimba Sessions in Italy.
Jake’s principal teachers include Matthew McKay, Daniel Bauch, and Will Hudgins of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, as well as Braham Dembar and Pedro Fernandez of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University (Muncie, IN) and is going into the second year of his master’s degree at the New England Conservatory of Music (Boston, MA).
