James McAloon Jr.
James McAloon Jr. is currently a senior at the Hartt School of Music studying with Phil Snedecor. He comes from Williamstown, New Jersey, where his playing started within a very musical family. James has been recognized by the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and the Union League of Philadelphia for outstanding leadership and citizenship, as well as being a 2018 recipient of the Mark Lord Trumpet Award. James is also a member of the 20/20 Chamber Ensemble, the highest and most prestigious ensemble at Hartt while being one of the youngest in the group. He has been accepted into other groups such as All National Honors Orchestra, All Eastern Symphony Band, All State Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, along with numerous regional ensembles. He has also participated in masterclasses with John Wallace, James Thompson, Marco Blaauw and many others. Some of his previous teachers include Kevin Cobb and Darin Kelly. James will be starting his Masters Degree in the fall at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
