Josh Lesperance

Josh Lesperance is a tuba player from Ontario, Canada. He currently holds a Bachelor of Applied Music from the Eastman School of Music. His teachers include Don Harry, Scott Irvine, and Jane Maness.

Before attending Eastman, Josh was very active musically in both his local community and the Toronto area. He was a member of the Hannaford Youth Brass Band as Principal Eb, as well as a member of the Ontario Provincial Honor Band, the Denis Wick Canadian Wind Orchestra, and the National Youth Band of Canada.

Apart from awards earned through local music festivals, Josh was awarded the National Arts Centre Outstanding Brass Musician Award in 2017, ’18, and ’19. Josh has completed many exams through the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music, having completed his Level 6 through 10 exams in performance, history, and theory, receiving First Class Honors with Distinction in each. He also received the Level 8 Brass and Woodwinds Gold Medal in 2017, signifying having the highest grade nationwide for brass and woodwind exams during that year.
