Josh Gehres is completing his Master’s degree in trombone performance at the Eastman School of Music in May of 2019. He previously attended the University of Maryland, graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Music in trombone performance. His primary teachers have included Larry Zalkind, Craig Mulcahy, and Vic Izzo.
This will be Josh’s second summer performing with the AIMS Festival Orchestra. In previous years, he has also performed at the National Music Festival (2018, Chestertown, MD) and Eastern Music Festival (2017, Greensboro, NC). While pursuing his current degree, he plays with the Eastman Wind Ensemble, Philharmonia, and Trombone Choir. Josh is also an avid chamber musician, and is a founding member of the Broken Bones trombone quartet based in Rochester, NY and previously performed with the Tempered Brass quintet in the Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD areas.
