Kathryn Corl
German Language

Kathryn A. Corl M.A., PhD (Ohio State University). Associate Professor Emerita at Ohio State University, where she directed the Undergraduate German language program for many years and taught a range of courses, including Pronunciation and Phonetics and German for the Professions. She has authored research articles and college textbooks Sprechen wir Deutsch! (1985, 1989, 1992); Übergänge: Texte verfasssen and was responsible for several technology-based projects including OSU’s federally funded MultiCAT Multimedia Computer Adaptive Placement Test and the Merk mal! online learning tool for intermediate learners of German, as well as an online Course in Listening for the GOLDEN teacher development project sponsored by the Goethe Institute and the American Association of Teachers of German.  Awards: Rodica C. Botoman Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring in the College of Humanities, OSU, 2005; Anthony Papalia Award for Excellence in Teacher Education, American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages/NY State Assoc. of Foreign Language Teachers, 2006.  She has taught for several summers at AIMS, most recently in 2015 and is looking forward to meeting old friends and new this summer in Graz.
