The Swiss conductor Martin Lukas Meister is internationally active with a broad repertoire in the fields of opera and symphony concerts.

He crowned his career as Kapellmeister at German opera houses with the post of General Music Director of the Staatstheater Darmstadt. Before that, Martin Lukas Meister was the 1st Kapellmeister and deputy GMD at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern and before that he was the 1st coordinated Kapellmeister at the Ulm Theater. Since 2018 he has been the Stiftskapellmeister of the Swiss Benedictine monastery in Einsiedeln.

Guest conducting engagements have taken him to the Gran Teatre de Liceu Barcelona, ​​the Hessian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, the Argovia Philharmonic, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra Ingolstadt, the Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra and the Theater Würzburg.

Martin Lukas Meister completed the Kapellmeister training at the music academies in Basel, Bern, Geneva and Zurich with Ralf Weikert and Manfred Honeck. International master classes, e.g. in Tanglewood, complement his conducting training. He studied musicology, ethnomusicology and philosophy at the University of Zurich. He is the recipient of the conductor’s prize of the Swiss Tonkünstler Society and the Kiefer Hablitzel Foundation, as well as the 1st prize of the W. and B. Alter Foundation.
