Michael Brennan
Viola

Originally from Long Island, New York, Michael Brennan actively performs with orchestras, chamber ensembles, and in solo recitals all throughout the United States. Michael recently appeared as a section violinist with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Carnegie Hall’s “Link Up” Orchestra, and at Lincoln Center’s “Soul at the Center: Lala Hathaway Sings Donnie Hathaway.” Michael began his musical studies with the violin at the age of fourteen, and after four years of study he was accepted into some of the top conservatories in the U.S. Educating young students is an important part of his philosophy; he values the relationship between teacher and student, and he hopes for his students to feel inspired just as he was. Michael received his bachelor’s degree from Manhattan School of Music and is currently studying with Dr. Timothy Shiu at the University of Memphis. Michael’s teachers include Yonitte Ryger, Shmuel Katz, and Timothy Shiu.
