Michael Valentekovic is a bass-baritone currently under the instruction of Russian baritone Vladimir Chernov. Born and raised in Southern California, Michael received his Bachelor of Music from California State University, Long Beach, and receives his Master’s degree from UCLA in the spring of 2019. Michael’s notable roles include three world premieres under the direction of Peter Kazaras, the most recent — Lost Childhood, an opera based on the acclaimed WWII memoir by Yehuda Nir. Other accomplishments include The Villains from Les Contes d’Hoffmann with Repertory Opera Company, Don Bartolo from Le Nozze di Figaro with the Opera Institute at Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, and La Bohème with Opera Buffs. Michael attended AIMS, Graz in 2017 on scholarship and, in 2019, participates again as a staff member.
