Sean Elliott is a Doctor of Musical Arts violin performance student and studies with Dr. Mikylah Myers at the West Virginia University School of Music in Morgantown, WV. A native of Morgantown, he began private lessons at the age of five through the WVU College of Creative Arts Community Music Program with Mary Wilson and has since earned a Master of Music degree from Carnegie Mellon University studying with Assistant Teaching Professor of Music, William van der Sloot. Sean is the recipient of several awards, including the Valerie Canady Charitable Trust Foundation Scholarship Award. He was a winner and performer of the WVU School of Music Young Artist Competition in 2016 (with Vieuxtemps’ Violin Concerto No. 5) and in 2021 (with Vivaldi’s “Spring” and “Summer” from the Four Seasons). In addition, Sean has led the Round Top Summer Festival Orchestra in Round Top, Texas as Concertmaster with a performance of Tchaikovsky’s Manfred Symphony during the 2017 season. Sean is currently sitting as Concertmaster/ Principal Second violin of the WVU Symphony Orchestra and is also a member of the WVU Graduate String Quartet.
