Luca De Grazia (Switzerland) began piano studies at the age of seven with Sandro D’Onofrio at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano (CH). He continued his studies at the Haute-École de musique in Lausanne (CH), with Dag Achatz and Brigitte Meyer, graduating with a Masters Degree in Music Pedagogy. He undertook further studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg (A) with Claudius Tanski and attended the “Corso di alto perfezionamento” for piano solo at the Accademia internazionale musicale in Rome (I) with Konstantin Bogino. He recently graduated the Master Degree in Piano-Vocal accompaniment at the Graz Music University (A) with Julius Drake.

He has participated in masterclasses for piano a.o. with Pavel Gililov, Jacques Rouvier and Konstantin Scherbakov, and for Lied a.o. with Hartmut Höll, Rudolf Jansen and Charles Spencer. Furthermore he received the scholarships to participate as collaborative pianist (2015) in the Opera Studio at AIMS in Graz (A), and as Liedpianist (2016) at the prestigious Franz-Schubert-Institute in Baden-bei-Wien (A) to work with Elly Ameling, Olaf Bär, Helmut Deutsch, Robert Holl, Wolfram Rieger, Andreas Schmidt, Birgid Steinberger and Roger Vignoles.

Luca De Grazia has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and vocal accompanist in Switzerland (e.g. in the Steinway Hall in Lausanne or at the “Schubertiade d’Espace 2” 2017 with the Austrian Mezzo-Soprano Klaudia Tandl) and abroad (e.g. in the “Auditorio Giorgio Gaber” in Milan for the EXPO2015 with the Austrian baritone Rafael Fingerlos).

He won the first prize for piano solo at the 8th International Music Competition in Cortemilia (I), the second prize at the Swiss National Youth Music Competition in Lugano (CH), where he was also awarded the SUISA Foundation prize and he achieved the final at the “Johannes Brahms Competition” 2016 in Pörtschach (A) for the Art of Song with Klaudia Tandl.

Luca De Grazia lives now in Austria and works in Vienna and Upper Austria as a piano teacher and accompanist. In addition to his mother tongue Italian, he speaks French, German and English.
