Lukas Beikircher studied piano and composition at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich and completed his studies in conducting in Dresden. He assisted Sir Colin Davis and Hartmut Haenchen at the Nederlands Opera Amsterdam and was offered a composition commission from the Cologne Philharmonie. Beikircher began his professional career as a repetiteur at the Staatstheater Braunschweig and then became Principal Conductor of the International Operaproducties Holland where he conducted Ariadne auf Naxos, Nabucco, Rigoletto and Carmen. Following this he was engaged as 1st Kapellmeister at the Staatstheater Darmstadt and from 2010 to 2012 Kapellmeister and assistant Music Director of the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich. In addition he guested at the Oper Krakau (Norma) Theater Lodz (La traviata and Rigoletto), Opera Szeged (Ariadne auf Naxos), Oper Bonn (Adriana Lecouvreuer), Theater Chemnitz (Madam Butterfly), Theater St. Gallen (Magic Flute), and a new production of Ein Walzertraum at the Landestheater Innsbruck.
Lukas Beikircher has conducted concerts with the RSO Bratislava in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, the Laiezhalle in Hamburg, and with the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonia in the “Glocke” Bremen, and the Munich Herkulesaal.
In 2013 he made his debut at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein conducting Rigoletto and since then he has been engaged as a Kapellmeister conducting Don Giovanni, La traviata. Flying Dutchman, Hänsel and Gretel, and Werther. Lukas Beikircher conducted the opening night of the 2015/2016 season in Düsseldorf with Arabella (Richard Strauss). Upcoming performances in the season are Flying Dutchman, The Ring in One Evening, Der Zwerg (Zemlinsky). Hänsel and Gretel, Werther and the World Premiere of the Snow Queen (Lange).
