Austin Beck
Bass
Growing up in Appleton, Wisconsin, Austin was introduced to music at a young age by his mother, who taught him piano. Also having studied electric guitar, electric bass, and percussion, Austin eventually decided to focus solely on double bass. He studied with Susan Sullivan before moving to Los Gatos, California, where he studied with Bruce Moyer. In 2024 and 2025, Austin attended the Chautauqua Institution where he studied with Owen Lee and Curtis Burris. Currently, Austin is pursuing his Bachelor’s of Music at the Eastman School of Music, studying with James VanDemark.
