Daniel Mullins

Daniel Mullins is Lecturer of Piano at The Ohio State University, where he serves as pianist and coach for the opera program. In addition to his university appointment, he is an active freelance collaborative pianist, working with undergraduate and graduate voice students at OSU and serving as pianist for the Columbus Children’s Choir.
Mr. Mullins brings a diverse and comprehensive musical background to his work as a collaborator. He earned a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from Ohio University in 2013, followed by a Master of Music in violin performance and string pedagogy in 2017. Expanding his artistic focus to collaborative piano, he completed a second Master of Music degree in collaborative piano in 2023 at the University of Northern Colorado.
An experienced collaborator since 2008, Mullins has partnered with singers and instrumentalists in lessons, studio classes, masterclasses, recitals, and competitions. His freelance work has included appointments at Ohio University, The Ohio State University, and the University of Northern Colorado. From 2019 to 2021, he served as Staff Pianist at Ohio University. He subsequently held a graduate assistantship at the University of Northern Colorado (2021–2023), where he was Assistant Vocal Coach and rehearsal pianist/harpsichordist for all opera productions.
His operatic pianist credits include ‘Così fan tutte’ by W.A. Mozart, ‘Suor Angelica’ by Puccini, ‘Acis and Galatea’ by Handel, ‘Il mondo della luna’ by Haydn, ‘The Threepenny Opera’ by Weill, and ‘The Light in the Piazza’ by Adam Guettel.
