Felix Heuser

Felix Heuser
Poetry of the German Lied & German Diction

Coming from a small village in South-West Germany, Felix Heuser is a singer most noted for his work in contemporary opera. A regular guest soloist at Oper Graz he has also worked in venues such as Theater an der Wien, Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen, Festspielhaus Erl, NODO Festival and steirischer Herbst. He has been involved in numerous world premieres, collaborating with composers including Peter Eötvös, Oscar Strasnoy, Steffen Schleiermacher and directors such as Jan Lauwers/needcompany, Philipp Krenn and Rocc.

His artistic interests range from experimental compositions to classic opera and reach back to early baroque repertoire, another field of particular interest to Felix. He studied in Hamburg, Bremen and London before moving to Austria and finishing his education with a Master’s degree in Performance Practice in Contemporary Music. He particularly enjoys exploring unfamiliar repertoire, old and new, experimenting with and expanding the expressive possibilities of the voice, and developing new works through close collaboration with composers and other artists.

Alongside his stage work, he is a dedicated teacher and has been invested in teaching voice both privately and at the Graz Boys Choir for many years.
