Jason Nichols

Jason Nichols is a dynamic American tenor praised for his “vulnerability and passion” (Roanoke Times). Known for his versatility and dramatic depth, he recently made his debut as Rodolfo in La Bohème at the Silesian Theatre Opava.
In the 2026–2027 season, Jason debuts as the Prince in Rusalka with Opera Modesto in California and the North Czech Philharmonic, sings with Lithuanian National Opera, and covers Tom Rakewell in The Rake’s Progress at the National Theatre Prague. He also performs Alfredo in La Traviata this season in collaboration with AVA Prague and Studio Martinek.
Jason has performed across the United States, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Austria, and Madagascar in opera, concert, and recital. Additional engagements include Prince in Rusalka with Opera Arlington, Salome with the Dallas Symphony under Fabio Luisi, the modern premieres of two J.H. Schmelzer operas at the Olomouc Baroque Festival, Tobias in Sweeney Todd with Opera Roanoke, and appearances with the Grammy Award–winning ensemble Seraphic Fire. He has collaborated with conductors including Marzio Conti, Hilary Griffiths, and Steven White.
Jason was a district winner in the Metropolitan Opera Competition, a finalist in the Orpheus Competition, AIMS Meistersinger Competition, and Grande Voci.
