Johannes Eberhart
Violin
Johannes Eberhart is a passionate musician and educator dedicated to honing his craft to boost those around him in his community. A student at UCLA, he is pursuing degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance with additional independent studies in Viola. He is studying violin with Varty Manouelian and Movses Pogossian and viola with Che-Yen Chen. His pursuits in orchestral and chamber music have led him to playing with UCLA’s Philharmonia Mahler’s 6th concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall as well as masterclasses with the New Orford String Quartet, Geraldine Walther, and Jon Walz to name just a few. Johannes also delves into Early Music by playing Baroque Violin and Viola for both UCLA’s Early Music Ensemble and the Los Angeles Camerata. Johannes is also a member of the 2nd violin section of the California Young Artists Symphony.
In education, Johannes is an instructor for Lyon Music at the Sinai Akiba Academy where he teaches students at an after school program as well as at home. Johannes is also the president of UCLA’s newly founded chapter of the American String Teachers Association, a chapter which has hosted visits from local public school orchestra classes as well as guest speakers.
Along with playing and teaching, Johannes is an aspiring conductor. He is currently the conductor of UCLA’s Con Brio String Orchestra and has founded and is conductor of the Bruin Sinfonia, a newly formed chamber orchestra. He has also recently conducted Hermann’s Psycho Suite at one of UCLA’s Faculty Artist Series and at the Dilijan Chamber Series, projects in which he conducted a string ensemble formed of UCLA string faculty and students. He has received tutelage from Dr. Dean Anderson and attended masterclasses and workshops taught by Günter Neuhold, Dr. Soo Han, Dr. Joel Schut, Gary Lewis, and receives additional guidance from Neal Stulberg.
Conducting, performing, and teaching are all things that Johannes is extremely passionate about and he is always eager for musical collaboration of all kinds.
