Leann Currie
Bassoon
Leann Currie is dedicated to modern early music interpretation, sonic exploration, along with solo and group improvisation, and is privileged to present these various music styles together with her colleagues in Det Norske Blåseensemble, Norway’s oldest orchestra with a continuous history.
Deemed “superb” by Fædrelandsvennen and “delighting…the audience with her expressive playing” (Usedom News), Leann has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician throughout Europe and North and South America. She studied with Dag Jensen, Ole Kristian Dahl, Robert Rønnes, and Bernard Garfield.
Outside of bassooning, Leann enjoys traveling, reading, baking, drinking too much iced coffee, petting random cats, playing video games, and watching sci-fi series. She is a proud mother to 4 cats.
