Ricardo Flores
Cello
Ricardo Flores is a Dominican Cellist, who has been performing for over a decade. Ricardo has had the opportunity to perform in many venues, including the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Alice Tully Hall at Juilliard, Chichester Cathedral in England, The Toyota Center and Lakewood Church in Houston Texas and more. He has had the opportunity to perform with great orchestras, such as the Virtuosi of Houston, Texas Music Festival Orchestra, Brevard Music Center Orchestra, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and Chichester University Orchestra. Over the years, he has gotten to play alongside the likes of Grammy winner Wynton Marsalis, Tai Murray, Pastor Joel Olsteen, Wintley Phipps and Mac Powell from the Christian rock band Third Day as well as Afro-Beats artist Burna Boy. He has also performed for many distinguished figures, including Sarah, the Duchess of York, Senator Orrin Hatch and the engineer and inventor Monzer Hourani. Ricardo has been recognized as a winner of the Brevard Music Center Concerto Competition for his performance of Rococo Variations by Tchaikovsky. During his time in Houston, Flores has had the opportunity to study with Grammy nominated cellist, Courtenay Vandiver Pereira. Currently, Ricardo is attending the University of Houston and is en route to obtaining his Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance under the tutelage of Houston Symphony member Anthony Kitai.
