Abigail Hanna
Cello

Cellist Abigail Hanna is currently studying with Steven Doane and Rosemary Elliott on a full scholarship at the Eastman School of Music. Before pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, she studied with Milwaukee Ballet’s principal cellist, Ravenna Helson, for 10 years. Abigail has performed several times in Field Concert Hall at Curtis as a part of the Sphinx Performance Academy. She was also the 2019 recipient of the Civic Music Association’s Young Artist Award. Upon graduating from high school, she was invited to be principal cellist of La Musica Lirica International Opera Festival for their 2021 season, and has also formerly served as principal cellist of the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra and assistant principal of Chautauqua’s Festival Orchestra. In addition to cello, Abigail is also continuing her classical vocal studies as a soprano and has placed in several national and regional competitions including Hal Leonard and NATS. As an Ecuadorian-American she is the first in her family to pursue a career in music, and is very grateful to her family and friends for their continuous support.
