Gero Nievelstein
Stage Director

Gero Nievelstein studied acting at the renowned Westfälischen Schauspielschule Bochum. He was subsequently engaged by the German State Theaters of Nuremberg, Braunschweig, Bochum, Regensburg, the festival of Bad Hersfeld, the Salzburger Landestheater and the Salzburg Festival. At the Salzburg Festival, he equally served as an acting coach for the Young Singers Project. For several years he has served on the faculties of both the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg and the Nuremberg Opera Studio, as well as more recently at the department of Classical Studies of the Salzburg University. In 2022, he has joined the voice faculty of the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna (MDW). For many years, he has been producing cultural events and cofounded “Bridging Arts” which has been nominated for the “Junge Ohren Preis”. For the performance of Britten’s “Noah’s Flood” they received the Salzburger Landespreis für Kulturelle Bildung.
