A prominent figure of the Chicago freelance scene since 2015 when he joined the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Jeremy Curtis is looking forward to his first summer with the 2024 AIMS Festival Orchestra. Jeremy currently holds the position of Second Oboe for the Peoria Symphony, Acting Principal oboe for the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra and regularly performs with numerous orchestras in the Chicago area and surrounding states. In 2018, Jeremy had the privilege of joining the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago as Principal Oboe in their Carnegie Hall debut. Jeremy has had the privilege of working with top conductors including Semyon Bychkov, Nicholas McGegan, Leonard Slatkin, Robert Spano, Ken-David Masur and Rafael Payare. In 2014, Jeremy attended the Aspen Music festival under the tutelage of Elaine Douvas and Richard Woodhams. Jeremy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Oboe Performance from the University of Oregon and Master’s degree in Oboe Performance from Indiana University, where he studied with Linda Strommen. Originally from the island of Maui, Jeremy loves getting outdoors and being in the water, and is taking recommendations for the best lager in Austria!
