Julia Jacobsen
Violin

Julia Jacobsen is a violinist and marketer with a mission to bring greater diversity, equity, and accessibility to the classical music industry. She will soon be completing her violin performance and marketing studies at the University of South Carolina, where she is receiving her musical training from Dr. Ari Streisfeld and working in the marketing department of the School of Music. Julia is a section violinist with the Aiken Symphony and frequently plays with the South Carolina Philharmonic and Long Bay Symphony, among other orchestras in the Carolinas, with plans to expand her career in orchestral performance after completing her coursework. In previous summers, Julia has attended the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute, Decoda Chamber Music Festival, Interlochen Violin Institute, and Piccolo Spoleto Rising Stars Series. So far in her career, Julia has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Peace Center, Koger Center for the Arts, and Thomaskirche in Leipzig, Germany. Outside of music, she also works as the Creative Marketing Manager for Boulanger Initiative, a nonprofit organization that promotes women and gender-marginalized composers, and as a freelancer in marketing and graphic design.
