Nicholas Garcia-Hettinger
Violin

Nicholas Garcia-Hettinger began his violin studies at the age of four and recently received his bachelor’s of music under Julliana Athayade at the Eastman School of Music. Nicholas has served as Concertmaster of both the Eastman Philharmonia and Eastman Symphony.  He has also served as a substitute violinist with the New World Symphony in Miami and the Rochester Philharmonic. Nicholas was a finalist in the 2019 Juanita Miller Concerto Competition held in Dallas January 2019, and he was the first place solo winner in the Sounds Like KPAC Young Talent Solo Competition. Driven by a profound passion for teaching and giving back to his community, Nicholas has taught at the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio (YOSA) Summer Symphony Camp, a program he once attended as a student himself. In the fall Nicholas will begin his Masters degree at Rice, Shepherd School of Music on full scholarship, studying under Paul Kantor. When he is not involved in music, Nicholas enjoys reading, running, watching movies, spending time with friends and family, and of course eating delicious foods!
