Randy Glasner
Clarinet

Randy Glasner is a full time Band and Orchestra Director for Arlington Public Schools in Arlington, VA. He gives clinics on teaching beginning woodwinds to colleagues and gives clarinet clinics and coaching to Arlington high school clarinetists as part of their preparation for regional and state assessments.

Randy is a freelance clarinetist and has performed with various orchestras, bands and opera companies in the D.C. area as well as southern Florida and southern California. As a member of the American Institute of Musical Studies Festival Orchestra since 1998, he has served as the assistant orchestra manager and as the chamber music coordinator.

Randy Glasner graduated from Houghton College in Houghton, NY with a BMUS degree in Music Education and completed a MM Degree in Clarinet Performance from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Randy served as Principal Clarinetist with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band in southern California. His list of clarinet instructors includes Edgar Norton, John Hunter, Mitchell Lurie, Gary Gray, Loren Kitt, and Kathleen Mulcahy.

Randy has traveled extensively across Europe and also numerous holiday voyages on the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner. He enjoys discovering new places in Europe as well as visiting several locations on a regular basis.

Randy has had the unique opportunity to appear in the following movies, television programs and notable events; “The American President”, “Absolute Power”, “Clear and Present Danger”, “JAG” and The State funeral for President Richard M. Nixon.
