Summer Administrative Assistant

Alexandra Shatalov is an oboist, educator and arts administrator in the Atlanta, GA area. She is Principal Oboist of the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra and performs frequently on oboe and English horn with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Alexandra has additionally performed with the Talea Ensemble, Atlanta Chamber Winds, National Jeugd Orkest of the Netherlands and the St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra in venues such as the Berlin Konzerthaus, Amsterdam Musiekgebouw and St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre. Alexandra received her doctorate and masters from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where she studied with Richard Killmer. She has been on faculty teaching oboe and arts administration at the Atlanta Music Project, Nazareth College, the SUNY Potsdam Crane School of Music and the Eastman Community Music School, where she received the 2012 Jack L. Frank Award for Excellence in Teaching. Alexandra is the Orchestra Manager of the Emory Youth Symphony at Emory University and maintains an active oboe studio and handmade reed business in Atlanta. Alexandra was a member of the AIMS festival orchestra in 2012 and 2013.
