Summer Administrative Assistant
Kayla Siembieda is a mezzo-soprano from Des Moines, Iowa. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin where she graduated cum laude, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Vocal Performance at Louisiana State University under the direction of Dennis Jesse.
Miss Siembieda made her professional debut at Opéra Louisiane as Ericlea in Ulysses: An American Mythology this past February. At LSU, Miss Siembieda performed as Baba the Turk in Rake’s Progress, Mrs. Peachum in Die Dreigroschenoper and Ilona Ritter in She Loves Me.
While at Lawrence University, Miss Siembieda performed as Emma Jones in Street Scene, Mrs. Peachum in The Beggars Opera and was an active participant in many opera scenes. Her favorites include: Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible, Flora in La Traviata, and Fidalma in Il Matrimonio Segreto.
In 2016, Miss Siembieda won first place at the National Opera Association’s Opera Scenes Competition as Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro.
Miss Siembieda also performed as a Young Artist with the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, the International Lyric Academy in Viterbo, Italy as Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro and as a Young Artist with the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. She is ecstatic to be returning to AIMS as a summer assistant!
